I adapt my skin care routine with each season. My skin concerns change in summer and winter. With summer approaching, I share skin care tips I use during the season.
1. Keep skin hydrated
I drink a ton of water. The H20 hydrates both my skin and body. I hydrate my skin with extra water, and it appears softer and supple. You can hydrate the skin in a few ways:
- Increase your water consumption by drinking more water or eating water-rich foods
- Use a hydration-boosting moisturizer. A moisturizer containing hylauronic acid, for example, gives the skin extra hydration
2. Don’t forget to wear sunscreen
UV rays are especially harmful during the summer. Choose a sunscreen that gels into the skin. A sunscreen that gels will absorb fully. Most specialists reccommend using (at minumum) SPF 25.
3. Protect your lips
I sometimes forget this step. Your lips are composed of fragile skin, and should be protected like the rest of your skin. A simple method to protect your lips is to use a hydrating, nourishing lip balm.
